Overall:
an alround excellent and extremely useful piece of kit that will last forever and earns it's weight in the pack.
Positives:
The machete is strong and robust and can be used to cut through thick branches and even small logs very quickly as a small axe would. It is quick and efficient at stripping and sharpening sticks to rough points so great for making shelters and great at hacking down bracken for bedding. Stainless steel blade means once you get a decent edge it will hold it for ages. I have a decent folding saw and a great little axe but if I'm travelling light I prefer to take this machete and my Mora Clipper carbon to cover all eventualities. Oh and it's cheap!
Negatives:
It comes with a poor edge and takes a lot of effort to get it sharp (but worth it) The handle is good but only fixed to the tang with pop rivets. I do give mine a lot of stick and I am known for breaking things but expect to have to fix the handle at some point.
